Third Party providers
What is a Third-Party Provider?
A third-party provider is a company which engages directly with multiple companies and organisations across the globe to secure internships for students as a part of an overall programme package. The providers included in the handbook offer a range of in person, hybrid and remote internships. A third-party provider effectively reduces or removes the amount of research which is traditionally required of an applicant in finding an internship that is right for you. Third party providers such as the ones highlighted in this package are dedicated specifically towards internships and can be completed either as a student or graduate. Third Party Providers are typically used for short-term work-based learning abroad.
What benefits do third party providers offer?
CV and interview advice: Many of the providers mentioned in the booklet offer CV workshops and interview training within their programmes. This training has been created in tandem with universities and the companies they work with. It provides insights into how best to structure your CV to show off your skills as much as possible.
A broad range of internships across multiple sectors: Third party providers help to cut out a lot of research that may be required to find an ideal fit in internship as they have developed relationships with companies across multiple sectors. This will make your search easier and allow you to get closer to your sector of choice
High quality internships: The internships sourced by third party providers are vetted, with the providers undertaking site visits to conduct quality assurance assessments. Guidelines are provided by the provider to ensure that quality is maintained and actively utilise feedback provided by interns.
A holistic package for students: Third party providers are not limited to just internships. The providers listed in this booklet offer accommodation, a degree of visa support, extracurricular activities and a sense of community with other interns in the same city as you.
Costs
Third party provider programmes can be expensive. It may not be suitable or affordable for you to sign up with a provider immediately. It may be something that you need to think about given your own financial situation or consider saving for as you progress within your degree. However, it should be noted that third-party providers are more expensive simply because they provide a holistic package. These providers would be particularly worthwhile if you would like an increased level of structure and support whilst engaging in a programme abroad. Please consult our funding webpages on how you could potentially finance a third-party programme.
